Blog Theme: Tan Tan Music Time Week: From 02/26/2018 to 03/02/2018

What we are learning? 

Dear Parents,

We hope you all have a wonderful week. This week we are starting a new theme called “Tan Tan Music Time”. Children will learn about music of different continents during the next five weeks. This week they will get familiar with Latin music. 

We will also continue working on motor and sensorial activities related to this theme so children can continue learning through fun experiences while keeping strengthening gross and fine motor skills, language and socio-emotional skills. Some activities children will enjoy are as follows:

· Dance to the rhythm of Latin American music. 
· Dance to the rhythm of African drumbeats. 
· Get familiar with the typical Peruvian cajon which is a percussion instrument while dancing to the rhythm of its music.

Student of the Week
Please make sure to sign up your child for this wonderful activity! 

As you know, every week a child is given a set week that he/she are the student of the week. On Monday of their week the student of the week should bring a poster and a book created with family pictures, favorite books, sports/hobbies, animals or anything they are interested in. Also, on their week parents and the student of the week may pick a day to present the poster and the book to the class. The student of the week may also bring favorite toys and books to school so they can share with classmates.

Friendly Reminders

· Wash your hands and your child's hands when entering your child’s classroom.
· Always store pacifiers in their packages.
· Read, review and fill out your child’s journal with information for the teacher.
· Label all your child’s clothing and items and make sure that your child has TWO extra set of clothing that is appropriate to weather in his/her cubby.
· Make sure to remove clothing from the cubby and just leave one set of clothing and a blanket for nap time.
· Make sure to take the blanket home on Fridays for laundry and bring it back on Monday.
· Bring diapers, wipes and rash ointment and label them with your child’s name when requested and if needed.
· Make sure to fill out an administration or authorization form specifying when bug spray, diaper cream, and any other ointment should be applied and be sure to supply and label the items with your child's name and place them in a tote bag.
· Morning snack time is at 8:45 am every day till 9:10 am.
· Label all bottles and food that you bring to preschool for your child with your child’s name and the date it was prepared and place them in the refrigerator or counter. If you leave the lunch box in the counter, make sure to put ice packs inside the lunch box. 
· Inform the teacher if there has been a change in your child’s feeding schedule. 
· Do not bring your child to school if the child has a fever of over 101F or any contagious conditions.

What we are learning? 

Dear Parents,

We hope you all have a wonderful week. This is the last week of our wonderful subject “A World of Colors”. This week children will continue being encouraged to cultivate love for nature and review the basic colors. 

We will also continue working on motor and sensorial activities related to this theme so children can continue learning through fun experiences while keeping strengthening gross and fine motor skills, language and socio-emotional skills. Some activities children will enjoy are as follows:

· Throw beans bag into colorful baskets. 
· Search for colorful objects in our sandbox. 
· Play with yellow little duck toys that are in a container with water while singing the song “Tengo un pato amarillo”.

We will also continue working on motor and sensorial activities related to this theme so children can continue learning through fun experiences while keeping strengthening gross and fine motor skills, language and socio-emotional skills. Some activities children will enjoy are as follows:


· Sing songs related to the theme while looking at flashcards.
· Listen to songs related to the rain while watching outside the window and seeing the rain falling.
· Look at flashcards or the different colors.

Theme: A World of Colors Week: From 02/05/2018 to 02/09/2018



What we are learning? 


Dear Parents,

We hope you all have a wonderful week. This week we will start a new theme called “A World of Colors”. Children will learn everything about the moon and the sun through play and observation. They will also explore the rain and the sound of the rain. They will get familiar with colors such as yellow while creating a craft of the sun using paper plate and tempera. 

We will also continue working on motor and sensorial activities related to this theme so children can continue learning through fun experiences while keeping strengthening gross and fine motor skills, language and socio-emotional skills. Some activities children will enjoy are as follows:

· Sing songs related to the theme while looking at flashcards.
· Read the monthly poem. 
· Listen to stories about nature.
