  What we are learning?

Dear Parents,

We hope you are having a beautiful week. This month our theme is “The Plants”. This coming week we will learn everything about the parts of the plant.

We have scheduled learning activities related to this theme to continue strengthening gross and fine motor skills, language and socio-emotional skills. Children will explore and discover all about the wonderful world of plants.  Children will strengthen their motor skills while dancing pretending to be trees”, they will move their arms and hands from one side to another and they will try to reach their feet. They will also experience colored ice and they will draw trees and make a collage. They will also explore nature and feel the texture of leaves and petals.

              Friendly Reminders
  • Wash your hands and your child hands when entering your child’s classroom.
  • Always store pacifiers in their packages.
  • Read, review and fill out your child’s journal with information for the teacher.
  • Label all your child’s clothing and items and make sure that your child has TWO extra set of clothing that is appropriate to weather in his/her cubby.
  • Make sure to remove clothing from the cubby and just leave one set of clothing and a blanket for nap time.
  • Make sure to take the blanket home on Fridays for laundry and bring it back on Monday.
  • Bring diapers, wipes and rash ointment and label them with your child’s name when requested and if needed.
  • Make sure to fill out an administration or authorization form specifying when bug spray, diaper cream and any other ointment should be applied and be sure to supply and label the items with your child's name and place them in a Ziploc bag.
  • Morning snack time is at 8:45 am every day till 9:10 am.
  • Label all bottles and food that you bring to preschool for your child with your child’s name and the date it was prepared.
  • Inform the teacher if there has been a change in your child’s feeding schedule.
  • Do not bring your child to school if the child has a fever of over 101F or any contagious conditions.

Week of March 27th - 31st

Week: March 27th to March 31st, 2017

🔠 What are we learning?

Dear Buhitos Parents,

We continue with our theme for the month of March called “People and Music around the World”. This coming week we will learn everything about Latin America. We will talk about music, their people, their traditions, culture, traditional food and interesting places in all these countries.

We have scheduled learning activities related to this theme to continue strengthening gross and fine motor skills, language and socio-emotional skills. Children will work on art projects with paper and glue and we will create together a beautiful Peruvian poncho. They will also play with sensorial bottles and will have fun discovering and exploring traditional musical instruments from Peru such as flauta and quena. And we will end the week with a special food activity. Children will help to prepare Peruvian causa.

Weekly Featured Theme: Getting to know America & Latin America
Week: March 20th to March 24th, 2017

🔠 What are we learning?

Dear Buhitos Parents,

We continue with our theme for the month of March called “People and Music around the World”. This coming week we will learn everything about America (USA, USA flag, our music, etc.) and Latin America. We will talk about the Latin American countries the teachers come from. We will talk about music, their people, their traditions, culture and interesting places in all these countries.

We have scheduled learning activities related to this theme to continue strengthening gross and fine motor skills, language and socio-emotional skills. Children will look at images of old magazines and they will tear the paper so we can create a collage, they will listen to Peruvian music and discover musical instruments that are used in Peru and they will also enjoy tear paper and place it inside of recycled plastic bottles.

Week: March 13th to March 17th, 2017

🔠 What are we learning?

Dear Buhitos Parents,

We continue with our theme for the month of March called “People and Music around the World”. This coming week we will learn everything about Africa. We will talk about music, their people, their traditions and culture.

We have scheduled learning activities related to this theme to continue strengthening gross and fine motor skills, language and socio-emotional skills. This week the activities are oriented to the exploration and discovery of a new wonderful culture by participating in fun live experiences. Children will look at flashcards to explore and discover about people in Africa, they will also dance to the rhythm of African music while learning about their traditional musical instruments and they will explore and discover new animals through images and we will paint some animals with crayons of different colors.

We will be also rehearsing the song for our International Party which will be taking place on April 20th. More information will follow in the next weeks.

🔠 What are we learning?

Dear Buhitos Parents,

We continue with our theme for the month of March called “People and Music around the World”. This coming week we will learn everything about Europe. We will talk about music, their people, their traditions and culture.

We have scheduled learning activities related to this theme to continue strengthening gross and fine motor skills, language and socio-emotional skills such as playing soccer in the backyard and trying to score as many goals as we can, creating a collage with images from a magazine and a pizza using recycled boxes, etc. We will be also rehearsing the song for our International Party which will be taking place on April 20th. More information will follow in the next weeks.
