What we are learning?
Dear Parents,
We hope you are having a beautiful week. This is our last week of learning about “My Community and I”. We will learn a new weekly subtopic called “Our Neighborhood”. Children will explore their surroundings: homes, fire house, police station, restaurants, movie theater, church, school, playground and parks. They will observe the kinds of stores in their area such as groceries, dry cleaners, barber shops, clothing boutiques, bookstores and toy stores. Children will be encouraged to be kind, nice and considerate to their neighbors and show respect to them.
We will be also learning about Thanksgiving and we will be reading books about the art of sharing. They will also enjoy a puppet show and music related to this special holiday.
Through practical actions we keep enlightening kids about importance of being part of a neighborhood. We have scheduled exciting activities related to this theme so children can continue learning through fun experiences. Each one of these activities will help to continue strengthening gross and fine motor skills, language and socio-emotional skills.
· Children will work with different types of materials such as paper, carton, glue and paint to create a craft for Thanksgiving.
· Children will also create a turkey with fruits of different colors. After this activity, we will review together the colors.
Thank you for letting us play such an important role in your child’s life and we hope you have a great weekend.
