What we are learning?
Dear Parents,
We hope you all have a wonderful week. We are starting a new month and with that a new theme. During the next 4 weeks, children will be learning about the Animal Kingdom. This week, children will learn about farm animals. The kids will be able to recognize and identify common farm animals, they will know the sounds made by common farm animals. Children will also be able to distinguish domestic animals from farm animals.
We will also continue working on motor and sensorial activities related to this theme, so children can continue learning through fun experiences while keeping strengthening gross and fine motor skills, language and socio-emotional skills. Some activities children will enjoy are as follows:
· Sing the weekly song while mimicking animal’s sounds.
· Observe flashcards about animals while learning interesting things about them such as what they eat, what they do, etc.
· Play with cold and warm water while giving a bath to animal toys and listening to two wonderful songs “Todos los patitos” and “La vaca Lola”.

Student of the Week
Please make sure to sign up your child for this wonderful activity!
As you know, every week a child is given a set week that he/she are the student of the week. On Monday of their week, the student of the week should bring a poster and a book created with family pictures, favorite books, sports/hobbies, animals or anything they are interested in. Also, on their week parents and the student of the week may pick a day to present the poster and the book to the class. The student of the week may also bring favorite toys and books to school so they can share with classmates.

Friendly Reminders
· Wash your hands and your child's hands when entering your child’s classroom.
· Always store pacifiers in their packages.
· Read, review and fill out your child’s journal with information for the teacher.
· Label all your child’s clothing and items and make sure that your child has TWO extra set of clothing that is appropriate to weather in his/her cubby.
· Make sure to remove clothing from the cubby and just leave one set of clothing and a blanket for nap time.
· Make sure to take the blanket home on Fridays for laundry and bring it back on Monday.
· Bring diapers, wipes and rash ointment and label them with your child’s name when requested and if needed.
· Make sure to fill out an administration or authorization form specifying when bug spray, diaper cream, and any other ointment should be applied and be sure to supply and label the items with your child's name and place them in a tote bag.
· Morning snack time is at 8:45 am every day till 9:10 am.
· Label all bottles and food that you bring to preschool for your child with your child’s name and the date it was prepared and place them in the refrigerator or counter. If you leave the lunch box in the counter, make sure to put ice packs inside the lunch box.
· Inform the teacher if there has been a change in your child’s feeding schedule.
· Do not bring your child to school if the child has a fever of over 101F or any contagious conditions.
